favorite? least favorite? improvement?

My favorite thing about this class was that it was at a learn-at-your-own-pace basis. I’ve taken online classes before, and I felt that when I took that one I felt pressured to be on top of all lectures, then come into take a final every 3 weeks or so. This class, however, felt a lot more eased than the online class I took before. It’s probably because I enjoy writing more than I like being lectured on a subject.

My least favorite thing about this class would have to be the time limit that’s given for quizzes and exams, but more specifically the quizzes. I felt that 35 minutes isn’t enough. I like to take my time when it comes to answering questions, then be able to go back and check all my answers before submitting. I know a handful of people who like to do this as well, but if a time limit is given, it makes them feel a little too pressured to just finish, rather than do their best on a quiz or exam. Maybe DO have a time limit, BUT make it at least an hour and fifteen minutes for quizzes and exams. That’d help out a lot.

The only thing I would change to improve this class is the time limits on exams and quizzes, because of the reasons above. Overall, I enjoyed this class. It was definitely an experience blogging for a grade. haha :)

  1. Hello, cvgotsoul
I could not agree with you more the timed quizzes and tests are one of the other few things i did not like in this communication class because of the short times. however, you are right this class was very pleasant and it was great blogging for a grade it makes me think of people who blog and get paid to blog. anyways, wow this isn't your first online class? wow! this was my first online class and I had a very pleasant experience. I wouldn't want to go take an exam every 3 weeks i prefer online exams :) like the ones from this class. Awesome post! GOOD LUCK with your final since this will be my last comment on your blog! :) take care! :D

  2. Hey!! I also love this class because it is learn at your own pace basis. I like how chill this class can be because we can get a good time span to complete our homework. The most important thing that I like about this class is that we do not have to wake up to attend lecture. I especially like how we have a week to take our test. The last class I took online, the test as given out on a certain day and we were to take in within the 12-18 hour time span. That was scary because I would have to go to work and rush back home to take the test before it was close. Overall I like this class a lot because I got to learn about things and it was pretty nice and chill. Haha. I enjoyed reading your post over the semester, especially since you post pretty fast for the week! Good luck on your exams as well!!

  3. Hey Chynna! I swear this will be my last comment for you of the semester! Lol. When you wrote about only having 35 minutes to complete the quizzes, I felt the same way! It’s just that group projects were my least favorite thing. For quizzes, I think that it was a reasonable amount of time but there was definitely a lot of questions from many different sections to refer back to. I wish that we had smaller 10 question quizzes after each week so that we could do better and answer the questions quicker since the subjects were still fresh in our minds. Well as I said this is my LAST post to you ever :( Thanks for everything though! Have a great winter break!

  4. Hey there cvgotsoul! I have to agree with you that the 35 minutes that we had to finish a quiz was not enough. I always felt pressured in doing the quizzes, which made things worse because it would take me longer to finish and answer a question. Also, like you, I like to go back and check all my answers, but I never really had enough time to, to the point where I felt confident in submitting my answers. And yes, I have to also agree that it was quite an experience to blog and receive a grade for it. Overall, awesome post!!!
